Kunstmuseum Bern INFINITE
The Kunstmuseum Bern launches INFINITE, an innovative fundraising project, to generate funds for the renewal of the museum. Only with a renewed building can the museum fulfill its mission to ensure the protection, care, and mediation of its first-class cultural assets in the future and continue to develop sustainably and with a future-oriented approach as a cantonal cultural beacon.
Kunstmuseum Bern INFINITE is a virtual space that enables artists to present their works in an immersive and interactive environment. The physical museum is expanded into the virtual world, generating new forms of art and exhibitions. We are creating a pioneering project within an innovative environment.
The project is supported by the Foundation of Gebäudeversicherung Bern. The GVB Cultural Foundation supports innovative projects in the fields of culture, education, society, and science that are related to the Canton of Bern.
The Kunstmuseum Bern's collection of works by Paul Klee, Pablo Picasso, Ferdinand Hodler, and Meret Oppenheim has made it an institution with an internationalreputation. The collection currently comprises over 4,000 paintings and sculptures, as well as around 50,000 drawings, prints, photographs, videos, and films. In order for us to continue to benefit from these unique treasures of art, the museum urgently needs to be renovated. The renewal project "Zukunft Kunstmuseum Bern" enables enjoyment, encounter, and education in a contemporary form.
Virtual Art Circle
The association aims to support the Kunstmuseum Bern by providing financial means for the renewal project "Zukunft Kunstmuseum Bern". The focus is on the structural development in the analog and digital area. The association also wants to create framework conditions and structures so that the Kunstmuseum Bern can be experienced in the digital space.
Furthermore, the association wants to create a virtual environment that embraces new art forms and new actors. The association provides the partners in the Kunstmuseum Bern INFINITE with their own virtual space where exhibitions and events can take place. Through collaboration with partners, both sides benefit and joint projects can be realized.
