Fundraising with NFTs

The extension building of the Kunstmuseum Bern from 1984 is in urgent need of renovation. The use of NFTs as a fundraising method is an innovative and experimental approach. Selected artists create a digital homage to a work from the Kunstmuseum Bern collection. The newly created artworks can be purchased as NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) through the association «Virtual Art Circle». The blockchain technology enables the certification of digital artworks as unique assets, making them tradeable. The proceeds from the sales go to the participating artists and the planned building project «Future Kunstmuseum Bern».

On May 23, 2023, the NFTs created by Sasha Stiles were presented in virtual rooms at the Kunstmuseum Bern and available for purchase starting from June 20 (7 pm CEST).

Kunstmuseum Bern INFINITE is a project of the association «Virtual Art Circle».
