Sasha Stiles, poet and AI researcher in conversation with Luba Elliott, curator specialising in AI art.
Sasha Stiles is an American poet and artist. She is a pioneer in generative literature and blockchain poetry and has exhibited and given lectures in numerous countries. She is the co-founder of verseverse, which is a platform for text-based, crypto-native art and has a mission of building the future of literature on the blockchain. In 2022, she became the first writer to bring AI-powered literature to a major auction house when her poem, “COMPLETION: When it’s just you,” sold at Christie’s. She recently collaborated in projects with artblocks,artcrush and playrecordmint among many others. Luba Elliott is currently working to educate and engage the broader public about the latest developments in creative AI through talks, exhibitions and tech demonstrations at venues across the art, business and technology spectrum including The Photographers’ Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum, ZKM Karlsruhe, Impakt Festival, The Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, CogX, NeurIPS and ICCV. Her recent projects include ART-AI Festival, the online gallery, aiartonline.com and NeurIPS Machine Learning for Creativity and Design Workshop. She is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the UCL Centre for Artificial Intelligence.
After an introduction of the project by Marlene Wenger, assistant curator of Kunstmuseum Bern, Sasha Stiles will do a reading of the poem “A EYE” followed by the artist talk about how AI technology is implemented Sashas art practice with Luba Elliott.
